A late 19th century silver Scottish Rifles breast badge, the wreath of Scottish thistles surrounding a central Douglas Star above a stringed bugle horn, denoting the 1881 merger of the 26th Cameronian Regiment and the 90th Perthshire Light Infantry that produced the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), hallmarked Joseph Jennens & Co, Birmingham 1894. Together with a Cameronians' crossbelt, star, and whistle, the ornate whistle boss of 14 leaves bearing battle honours, mounted with a Dragon, commemorating service in China in 1842, attached to whistle by a three strand chain, with the Egyptian Pharaoh whistle complete in a Sphinx, commemorating service in Egypt in 1801, and thistle embossed holder, hallmarked Joseph Jennens & Co, Birmingham 1892, length 18.75" (47.5cm). Total gross weight 5.5 ozt (171.7 grams).
