New York-based Colombian photographer Camila Falquez captures images that harness the traditions of fashion and portrait photography whilst honouring a broad spectrum of social and gender diversity; the activists, performers, and artists that empower their local communities. Surrealist and imbued with a painterly colour palette, Falquez creates empowering visions which evokes narratives of community, humanity, liberation, and visibility.

The present lot is part of the series "Arewa" and was shot at Delicia Studio, Brooklyn- Make-up by Kaiya Carlin. Production by Nandi Dion.

Camila Falquez has been featured in a variety of publications such as the New York Times, TIME magazine, and Vogue. She has also exhibited in Hannah Traore Gallery and Frieze LA.
