Campagnolo / Greg LeMond. 1986.
Though the duo of grinning cyclists may seem like the chummiest of pals, teammates Greg LeMond and Bernard Hinault harbored an intense rivalry which came to the fore in the 1986 Tour de France. Hinault, one of the greatest French cyclists, avowed his support to help LeMond win the race—but he then went back on his word in an attempt to demoralize and weaken his competition. At the peak of the Alpe d'Huez, the two riders rode hand-in-hand, and LeMond allowed Hinault to finish first. In the end, LeMond was the champion, becoming the first Tour de France winner from an English-speaking country. This photomontage design is hand-signed by LeMond.
