Cl: H.M.S “Thalia”); Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed as issued, pitting from star, nearly very fine (2) £120-£160---James Loveys was born in Hennock, Devon, on 19 August 1842, and joined the Royal Navy as a Stoker in H.M.S. Fox on 1 January 1873. He changed trade to be a Cook 2nd Class in January 1876 in H.M.S. Duke of Wellington, before returning below as a Stoker, serving as such in H.M.S. Thalia from 27 July to 19 December 1882.
