Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Campania, ca. 4th century BCE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery mug of a utilitarian form with a flat base, an apple-shaped body, a slender handle, and a flared rim, all enveloped in black glaze. Lustrous layers of silvery iridescence have developed across the vessel, imbuing it with an elegance and charm evocative of the ancient world! Size: 3.2" W x 3.55" H (8.1 cm x 9 cm)

Condition Report: Repair to roughly 2" of rim along front edge, with resurfacing and overpainting along break lines. Minor abrasions to rim, handle, body, and base, with light fading to glaze pigment in scattered areas. Nice preservation to overall form. Old inventory label beneath base.
