Candelabra, Putti holding aloft a two-light Rose Branch (2) - Napoleon III - Carrara Marble, Ormolu & Bronze - 19th century
An exceptional quality pair of Napoleon III antique French putti candlesticks, dating to circa 1860. The pair are made of circular stepped Carrara marble bases with fine ormolu freizes decorating their circumference. Mounted on the bases are finely chiselled figures of putti in ormolu bronze. On each candelabra, there are two branches able to accommodate two candles each. Unlike many other models of this type, the candelabra feature one female putto (with long hair tied back) and one male putto (with short hair) . Both are in good condition with some age related signs (please see the pictures) , some small knocks to the marble.
