Candlestick Gustav III, circa 1800 - Brass

A fine Swedish bronze or brass candlestick and its bobèche, circa 1780-1820, measuring circa 26cm in height and weighing 1250g, decorated to the base and stem in Gustavian style with burnished gilding between matt gilt foliate ornamentation, the candle cup sculpted as a krater (Medici) vase.

Condition: Very good, no damages. Base filled with lead, possibly resulting from an older repair (or just for weighting) . Minor wear commensurate with age,
