Candlestick, Pair of seven-light candelabra

Outstanding and impressive pair of French 7-light candelabras in finely chiselled ormolu (gold–mercury amalgam on bronze) . Each candelabra has 7 arms, shaped as branches decorated with scrolls and leaves and ending in a curl. All decorations have been very finely hand-chiselled. The stem is made up of 2 burnished bronze cherubs holding the arms and the bobeches. The rich ormolu decorations are made via lost wax casting techniques and masterly hand chiselled. The patinated bronze figurines show amazing proportions and have been made with attention to the smallest details.
