This deceptively simple design employs a victory torch bursting with film reels which bear the flags of the many countries featured in the 5th annual Cannes Film Festival. The winner of that year’s Grand Prize was Orson Welle’s “Othello,” which triumphantly reinterpreted the Shakespearean tragedy.
