Canopy bed
This bed comes from the antique noble residence of Conti Gattini in Naples. It’s a double bed, entirely handcrafted in wrought iron and cast iron. Its perimeter is decorated with an openwork; the panels are made of wrought iron, and are decorated with floral motifs and geometrical patterns, some of which inlaid with mother-of-pearl. A one of a kind piece! Made in 1842, it was kept in the Gattini residence till 1860. That year the count Gattini passed away, and the bed became part of the Gattini estate, with other furnishing pieces. It was owned by the last Gattini heir in a country house. Dimensions: headboard height 188 cm, width 80 cm, footboard height 104 cm, width 80 cm. Total weight: over 100 kg. The item would benefit from some tweaks (the small losses of colour should be repaired) .
