The Canyon Diablo meteorite impacted at Barringer Crater, Arizona and was named after nearby Canyon Diablo, which lies three-to-four miles west of the crater. Most of the mass would have vaporized on impact and the rest was blasted into smaller pieces. Canyon Diablo has now been closed for many years to meteorite hunters. Offered is a fine specimen.
