The accompanying story and interior art are by Simon and Jack Kirby. Cap's round shield, that would become an icon in the world of comics, first appeared here. Al Avison, Al Gabriele, and Reed Crandall art. Currently the #50 book on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics.
