Carla Raadsveld - Tickled pink 4841

[ translate ]

\Artist: Carla Raadsveld
Technique: Acrylic on canvas\Signature: Hand signed
This beautiful work is officially entitled: ‘Tickled pink 4841’, yet the name ‘Crazy cat lady’ seems more appropriate. This work is frivolous and involves a certain joi de vivre. A colourful addition to any home. Carla Raadsveld was born in Rotterdam and has been living in Ireland since 2001. Educated at the Rotterdam academy, Willem de Kooning. Scholarships for Italy and South Africa, since then working as a professional painter. The physical act of painting is very important to me, technique, composition, the "layers" and of course the smile. I prepare my, usually large size, canvases with black skin, the contours are not painted but saved so that the black background remains visible. Layer by layer, the light spots are painted from black to light, a time-consuming technique, but the result gives a special structure. Recently I experiment with black and white, 3 colours of paint; black, warm white and cold white, I find the challenge of this limitation very exciting. Also, the failed selfies are a source of inspiration, especially paired with large ladies, birds and - of course - cats. The work comes from the collection of a leading art dealership. Any damage and unevenness visible in the photos are part of the description. Viewing is possible, of course. All information can be found on our website.
