Size without frame: 61 x 69. 5 cm. Size with (complimentary) frame: 72 x 83 cm. Oil on board depicting a knight taming a horse, monogrammed C. Vet. on bottom right. Carle Vernet is a French painter and lithographer who devoted himself to the representation of military and genre scenes, hunting scenes, popular scenes and distinguished himself in the representation of horses. Proof of this is the splendid work offered here, of which we know of another version, as shown in the attached image (photos 35-36-37) . From a private collection. Preserved in good condition, minor craquelure visible on the whole painted surface. Small and negligible restorations emerged under Wood’s lamp (technical sheet is attached, photo 38) . After the tests performed, we can guarantee the authenticity of the work and we will include a certificate of authenticity and lawful origin issued by our gallery with photos, as required by the law.
