\Artist: Carlo Morgari (Torino, 1888 - ivi, 1970)
Technique: Olio su cartone pressato\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 62_37_4_cm
Carlo Morgari (Turin, 1888 - 1970) , Il Cristo degli abissi dipinto divisionista, oil on pressed cardboard, size: 45 x 20 cm, signed on bottom left. Authentication by the painter’s wife, Bianca, on the back. Carlo Morgari was an exponent of a real dynasty of Piedmontese painters (started with Giuseppe Maria, continued with his sons Paolo Emilio and Rodolfo, continuing with Pietro, son of Rodolfo, up to Luigi, son of Paolo Emilio, and father of Carlo) . Active mainly in Turin, he devoted himself mainly to religious subjects. The work in question is a rare attestation of early production and in particular of a Divisionist experimentation. Morgari got to know Divisionism through the lessons of Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo and the Divisionists active in Turin (Cesare Maggi, Matteo Olivero, Giuseppe Cominetti) . From the detailed photos you can see the particular Divisionist experimentation carried out by Morgari, capable of masterfully representing the particular light of the abyss and the whirlwind of the waters. Among the works that inspired Morgari there are probably Maggi's snowy nocturnes and Cominetti's "Gli amanti sott'acqua". In excellent condition. With certificate of authenticity and lawful origin. The work will be shipped via express courier within 24/48 hours with insurance. Please note that in case of sale abroad, the item can be shipped only after obtaining the authorisation for export from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage (Certificate of free circulation of Fine Arts) . This usually takes about 20 days. At the moment, due to restrictions to contain the Covid 19 epidemic, waiting times may be longer. The costs for shipments abroad include the cost of documents for Fine Art export and any customs procedures.
