Carolyn Janssen (b. 1981), Massive Failure

According to the artist:At the time of production, I wasn’t able to physically sign it —- as I live in California. The piece was sold through the Julie Saul gallery in NYC and production + installation occurred on the east coast while I was on the west coast. It’s one of my favorite pieces and was in a show at CAM in Raleigh.

In 2011, Carolyn Janssen created three Park Pictures billboards, large-scale outdoor works installed along the Museum Park greenway at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Massive Failure, offered here, parallels the outdoor works at the NCMA because of its size, vibrancy, and exploration of fantasy.
