A bit of history: Antique and older Chinese carpets are of superior quality; those manufactured up until 1920 are the most beautiful and refined, they have finer knotting and use magnificent wools. These Chinese carpets are handmade with incredibly soft and bright wools. They originate from the central region of the Chinese capital. The light decorations consist mainly of circular shapes that form a central medallion and a few other patterns that fill the surrounding space. The use of dark blue tones, with its iridescent colours, is characteristic of these manufactures. PS : the light and dark areas that you see in the photos are due to the folds and I guarantee that after a few days of walking, they disappear.
