Carter Inx Oversized Black Pearl Pearltex Fountain Pen
Carter Inx oversized Black Pearl Pearltex fountain pen, circa 1930’s. Carter was well known for their ink production, produced high quality pens in hard rubber and celluloid from the mid 1920’s through to the early 1940’s, their rocker clip slips into a slot in the cap to decrease the chance of the clip being sprung through. They used many beautiful materials, some unique during their pen production. Carter used the Pearltex line for several years, this example in Black Pearl. Rich grey marble hues with later plain clip, likely late 1930’s production with Carter Carter’s Inx Pen 14K fine semi-flexible nib. Length 5 3/8” and 6 3/4” posted, filling mechanism lever fill. Overall excellent condition, bright colour, light brassing to trim, no visible barrel imprint (not uncommon on these late model Carter pens). Pen was water tested and filled at time of listing.
