Carter Inx Red Mosaic Snakeskin Pattern Fountain Pen
Carter Inx Red Mosaic fountain pen, circa 1939-41. Carter was well known for their ink production, produced high quality pens in hard rubber and celluloid from the mid 1920’s through to the early 1940’s, their rocker clip slips into a slot in the cap to decrease the chance of the clip being sprung through. They used many beautiful materials, some unique during their pen production. Advertised as Carter’s Mosaic Line in 1939, originally two introduced, green and red (later blue and grey were released). This example was part of the men’s Mosaic line with distinctive snakeskin style pattern, likely model 435 with Carter’s Inx 14K extra fine nib. Length 5 1/4” and 6 1/4” posted, filling mechanism lever fill. Overall excellent condition, some brassing to high points of trim, bright colour throughout. Pen was water tested and filled at time of listing.
