In 1957, Cartier launched the original Baignoire, an oval wristwatch aptly named for its bathtub-like shape. These models were originally only available in the New York and London boutiques.

The current lot is being offered on behalf of the family of the original owner who purchased the piece whilst studying in Paris in the 1970's.
