Cartier Art Deco 14K Agate Platinum Diamond Frame

Cartier, circa 1920s-1930s, French Art Deco picture frame exceptionally crafted with polished botryoidal agate panels displaying distinctive concentric orbicular formations, set within a 14K yellow gold frame accented with robins egg blue enamel and geometric lapis lazuli inlays. The platinum corner mounts are each set with rose-cut white diamonds surrounding turquoise teardrop cabochons measuring approximately 17 x 19 mm. The sterling silver easel back is signed Cartier at the lower center. Overall frame measures approximately 11.5 x 8.75 x 0.25 in. and accommodates an approximately 9 x 6 in. photograph. Approximate total weight: 1,180 grams. Combined approximate diamond weight: 2.00+ carats. Metal content XRF tested and consistent with 14K gold, platinum, and .925 sterling silver.

Condition: Good overall antique condition with expected age-related surface wear and patina. The vermeil finish on the sterling silver easel back exhibits mild wear and darkened tarnish commensurate with age. A small flea bite / internal fissure bruise is present along the upper rim and can likely be professionally polished out. Otherwise, the piece presents in excellent condition for its age.
