Cartier Gold and ruby demi-parure, 1940s

Comprising: a pair of ear clips of bombé design set throughout with circular-cut rubies; and a ring of similar design, size 51; each signed Cartier, maker's marks for Cartier, French assay marks for gold.

Condition Report:
Each signed Cartier Paris (only one ear clip signed). Maker's marks for Cartier Société Anonyme. French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Rubies estimated to weigh a total of approximately 5.50 - 6.50 carats, slightly purplish red of medium saturation, slightly to moderately included, nicks, pronounced abrasions to the facet junctions especially prevalent on the ring. Scratches to the metal consistent with age and normal wear, shank of ring slightly misshapen. In good condition. Openwork terminals of ear clip fittings rotate. Ear clips measuring approximately 25 x 15mm. Total gross weight approximately 52 grams.
