Cartier Pair of amethyst and diamond ear clips, circa 1950

Each designed as a torsade of amethyst beads embellished with brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Cartier Paris, numbered, maker's marks for Cartier.

Condition Report:
Signed Cartier Paris, numbered R 8612 and 112660. Maker's marks for Cartier Société Anonyme. Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Amethysts purple of medium saturation, slightly to moderately included, some surface reaching inclusions, chips and nicks. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 5.50 - 6.50 carats, on average I-J colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Tarnish to the metal where the amethyst strings are attached, scratches to the metal consistent with age and normal wear. In good condition. The part of the ear clip that rests on the lobe is attached below the mounting, the terminals of the openwork clip fittings rotate. Measuring approximately 40 x 25mm. Total gross weight approximately 53 gram.
