Cartier Rock crystal, cultured pearl and diamond sautoir, 1970s

Designed as four rows of cultured pearls, spaced by polished rock crystal hoops, each accented by brilliant-cut diamonds, issuing a central cultured pearl tassel with a fluted rock crystal cap, length approximately 680, signed Cartier Paris, numbered, maker's marks for Georges Lenfant, French assay marks for gold.

Condition Report:
Signed Cartier Paris, numbered 40730. Maker's marks for Georges Lenfant, 72 rue des Archives, 75003 Paris. French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Cultured pearls measuring approximately from 2.90 to 7.20mm, of slightly cream to cream bodycolour, with green and rosé overtones, minor wrinkled skins and crazing, pitting, blemishes to the nacre, with good to high lustre. Rock crystal in good condition, minor scratches. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 7.00 - 8.50 carats, on average F-G colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Scuffs and scratches to the metal consistent with normal wear. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 170 grams.
