Colonial document box made of satin hardwood. Likely made in Indonesia for the Dutch colonialists. Made of wonderful wood with a moiré pattern. It has great depth effect and the chest is provided with brass mountings. The lock and hinges are also original and heavy made. The chest rests on ebony feet.
