Celestial.- Mariette (Pierre, publisher) Planisfere du Globe Celeste, double-hemisphere celestial map, said to be from the observations of the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe, and completed by a representation of the constellations of the southern hemisphere discovered by Frederick de Houtman, Dutch explorer and astronomer, engraving with full hand-colouring, heightened with gold, on laid paper with large armorial watermark, platemark 380 x 460 mm (15 x 18 1/8 in), sheet 455 x 610 mm (17 7/8 x 24 in), central vertical fold as issued, vertical folds in the margins to both sides, minor spotting and surface dirt, unframed, Paris, [circa 1650].
