Celestina Mehanical Reed Organette W/6 Rolls

An exceptional late 19th-century Celestina mechanical reed organette, manufactured by the Mechanical Orquinette Co. / The Aeolian Organ & Music Co. of New York. Housed in a handsome wooden cabinet adorned with intricate gold gilt corner, border, and central medallion stenciling, this hand-cranked musical instrument plays perforated paper music rolls over an internal reed assembly. The top lid opens to reveal the internal drive rollers and original paper manufacturer instruction card affixed to the lower interior panel. Condition is consistent with an older restoration featuring well-preserved decals, displaying light overall surface wear, fine finish crazing, and minor scuffs commensurate with age and use. The mechanical crank and internal components remain fully intact. The base cabinet exhibits structural wear, including separation along the mitered perimeter molding and a localized section of missing wood trim exposing raw grain along the top corner edge. 6 total rolls included with machine.
