Literature
Celestron was founded by Tom Johnson in the early 1960s. Over the decades, the company went through several structural changes, including an acquisition by Tasco in 1997 and its eventual acquisition by Synta Technology Corporation in 2005. Under Synta's ownership, manufacturing pipelines were streamlined in China, paving the way for low-cost, mass-market telescope series like the PowerSeeker and AstroMaster lines to be sold widely online, in department stores, and hobby shops
