Electrum statere of the Carnutes with an ornate cheek and a lyre. 1st century B. C. Electrum 20. 5 mm, 7. 26 g Guaranteed authentic: purchased at CGB, rue Vivienne in Paris. Specimen with a broad edge and the electrum still quite yellow. Well-centred reverse side. Numismatic references: LT 5947; DT 2526 Obverse: laureate head modelled on Philip II of Macedonia, highly stylised with almond-shaped eyes, right; the cheek is decorated with three triangular globules, the neck line is decorated with a pearl necklace. Reverse: Bige right on a wavy line in exergue, led by a charioteer; an upside down lyre between the legs of the horses of the bige.
