Cerussite Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia "A cluster of sharp, shiny fairly transparent cerussite crystals to abut [sic] two inches flaring off the matrix. The specimen is about 4 inches across. Bought from Jerry Panzer in Tsumeb." - Rock H. Currier Tsumeb is now a water-filled hole in the ground and a source of fond memories for the few miners who are still alive, who toiled in its depths. The former 'flood' of excellent Cerussite specimens has stopped. Other localities have furnished, and are furnishing, fine specimens, but it would be very difficult to mistake any of them for the specimen offered here, as it practically shouts: "Hi, I'm from Tsumeb!" In order to acquire such a specimen today, we have to rely on the erratic, and often slow, process of collection dispersal, and that process is anything but predictable. "... about two inches" should get your attention. There is a custom labeled base. Overall Measurements: 4.3 x 2.8 x 2.0 inches (11.0 x 7.0 x 5.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Jerry Panzer [RHC #1884, acquired 1975] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
