Cerussite Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia "A hand size flat cluster of reticulated twinned cerussite crystals. Bought this specimen from Sid Peters [sic] in Windhoek along with a few others." - Rock H. Currier A classic 'snowflake' type Cerussite crystal group from Tsumeb in its heyday. No more of these except for the ones in collections. When Tsumeb mining activities drew mineral enthusiasts such as Rock and Charlie Key into what was then S.W. Africa, Sid Pieters was one of the key mineral dealers of the day. Everyone stopped by to see what Sid had acquired. In this instance, this fine Cerussite caught Rock's attention - he and Sid probably had to haggle for a while before they both agreed upon a price that both could live with. It has a custom acrylic base. Overall Measurements: 3.1 x 3.9 x 1.2 inches (8.0 x 10.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Sid Pieters [RHC #1921, acquired 1974] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
