Condition Report: Lined canvas. Frame abrasion and a thin border of yellowed varnish to edges. An approximately 5-inch long horizontal repair in upper right corner with applied retouching. An approximately 2-inch long horizontal repair in lower right corner with applied retouching. A small dot of loss in upper left quadrant. Finely patterned craquelure throughout.
Under UV: heavily applied varnish fluoresces green. Retouching to aforementioned repairs fluoresces. Finely applied dashes of retouching to the background, particularly at the edges and in the upper right quadrant. Fine retouching to the figure's proper left calf. A few scattered small dots of fine retouching throughout, with two affecting the figure's forehead at the hairline, and his neck below the jawline, respectively. Framed under glass.
