Chabrol et Poirier (1917 - 1933) - Dinner set (38) - Limoges porcelain

[ translate ]

Exceptional and rare dinner service in Limoges art nouveau porcelain, from the Chabrol et Poirier factory (1917 - 1933) .

This magnificent service has an unusual polylobed shape, typical of the Chabrol et Poirier manufacture, which earned it numerous awards in 1925 at the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris and in 1931, at the Colonial Exhibition in 1931 in Paris.

No piece is round, each takes a plant shape and the interior of the plates, the bowls and the cup have very delicate relief ribs, in porcelain, like those of a tree leaf. The vegetables have the shape of a squash, and their grips that of an ear of wheat, just like their fretels.

Everything is plant-based in this service.
The decor, for its part, is typical of the late 1910s, early 1920s. The stylized flowers begin to take on almost geometric art-deco shapes, in shades of brown and blue.

This service was created and manufactured by the Chabrol et Poirier factory, emblematic of the 20s/30s. Although she had a very short existence, barely 20 years, she was in her time and is still recognized today for the beauty and refinement of her creations in the emerging art deco with very delicate and original shapes.

This service is a very good illustration of this. It dates from the very beginning of the manufacture, because the stamp present under each piece is the very first used until 1925.

It is in remarkable condition, with very slight wear to the decoration on the bowls and the golden grips of the vegetable bowls. A soup plate has a chip and a crack. (see photos) .

It's made of :
16 dinner plates (diameter 25cm)
8 soup plates (diameter 26. 5cm)
6 dessert plates (diameter 21. 5cm)
