Die Widmung ist an den Maler Carl Otto Müller (1901-1970) adressiert, der von 1954 an als Präsident der Neuen Münchener Künstlergenosssenschaft an der Organisation aller wichtigen Austellungen im Haus der Kunst beteiligt war: "Pour C. O. Müller en souvenir, Marc Chagall. Paris 1959". Provenienz: Aus dem Nachlaß von C. O. Müller. - Dedication copy of an exhibition catalogue with sketch by Chagall. - The drawing on the pre-title shows the profile of a male, an antropomorphic creature and a structure that resembles a roof.
