Louis XIII style chair called “caquetoire or caqueteuse chair”.
Perfectly stable & very comfortable, 86cm high,
length 60cm, width 42cm, weight 12kg.
Beautiful French cabinetmaking work, very beautifully crafted from the mid-19th century
characteristic of the Languedoc region and recognizable
by the presence of sculptures at the end of the armrest arms, to be seen on the
very detailed photos which are entirely part of the description.
Two-brace base structure connecting four arranged straight legs
so as to obtain a trapezoid-shaped seat,
no visible tool marks, armrests finished with sculpted male figures.
In varnished walnut wood, crafted in tight twists,
the connections of the twisted elements are carried out on masses
square with cubic ends.
Wood without any pitting, varnish in good condition, presence of minimal signs of wear
all visible in photos.
Steel nail-finished base, dimensions 57cm. L*40cml.
Comfortable backrest, foam interior covered with thick
fabric with a “Hungarian stitch” pattern, perfectly held in place by
round head brass nails with a very pretty patina of time,
Seat covered in the same fabric and finish, firm seat, very (very) comfortable,
straw padding, springs, staple finish (in good condition) & textile
in good condition with small halo - See photo.
Presence of 2 small stains, one on the seat, one on the backrest - See photos.
