Chalcocite Flambeau Mine, Ladysmith, Ladysmith-Rhinelander Metavolcanic Complex, Rusk Co., Wisconsin, USA Although mining in the U.S. has largely succumbed to working large, low-grade ore bodies because of the economic, legal and/or geological constraints, there can be an infrequent bright spot in the overall scene, as shown by the great Chalcocites recovered from the Flambeau Mine. While never what one would call 'plentiful' there were at least enough to go around for anyone desirous of owning one. Rock thought that picking a good one up might be a good idea.
