Marvellous pair of bronze busts, studies of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt’s works. Messerschmidt (a famous Swedish artist and sculptor from the late 1700s) . The busts were made in the late 20th century by Italian artists who were studying the forms. Making bronzes using the lost-wax casting, a technique almost extinct today, involves various steps. First of all a first copy is needed, a wax model a plaster cast, and the creation of underground moulds that are created and destroyed every single time.
