Charging Bull

signed with the artist's initials
oil pastel and paper collage on paper
Sheet: 12 by 10 in. (30.5 by 25.4 cm.)

Executed circa 1960.

Condition Report:
This work is in fair condition overall. The sheet is hinged along the upper edge of the reverse to the mat. The edges of the sheet are slightly irregular due to having been trimmed by the artist. There is overall discoloration throughout the sheet, with associated discoloration marks corresponding the mat, the latter not visible when framed. There is evidence of a 1 inch tear in the upper left corner that has been stabilized. There is a ¾ inch tear in the upper left quadrant in the green passage, visible upon close inspection. There is a pinhole in the upper right quadrant in the horizontal red passage, visible under raking light and upon very close inspection. There is evidence of prior mounting to the reverse of the sheet, including fraying to the uppermost layer of the sheet on the reverse as well as adhesive and paper remains from the prior backing board. There is a small crease in the upper left corner, not visible when framed. Framed under glass.
