Charles Camoin entered at the age of sixteen at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Marseille. He travelled to Paris and he entered Gustave Moreau’s studio. In 1898, he met Manguin, Marquet, Matisse, Puy and Rouault, artists all of them from the Fauvism group. In 1913 Camoin travelled to Morocco with Matisse, . After World War I, Camoin visited Auguste Renoir's workshop in Cagnes-sur-Mer, and he developed his colourist and voluptuous style. Watercolour signed on the lower right corner Ch. Camoin. It also has a note by the author saying "Route de la Croix des Gardes-Ardeche". Minor discoloration due to water on the left margin. Ancient wooden frame with gold leaf? A glass protects the painting. On the back there is a new panel in order to better adjust the artwork. Dimensions without frame: 32 x 24 cm
