Sublime and extremely rare “pre-Art Nouveau” piece, work of goldsmithing and tableware by Charles Christofle
- circa 1862.
Referenced, cataloged and highly sought-after model (present p. 77, No. 975 in the CHRISTOFLE commercial catalog of 1862 "Christofle & Cie manufacture in Paris. . . , rue de Bondy. . . ")
The Christofle house was founded in 1845 and passed on in 1863 upon the death of Charles Christofle to his son Paul.
This is therefore one of the latest achievements of the founder of the house.
It is also numbered, stamped "1088 194". under its lapel (see last photo)

This baluster coffee maker is magnificently beautiful.
It is in silver metal, plain and partially amati, offering a generous body on which a handle with knotted patterns and interlacing or interlacing clasps of great finesse and ivory stops takes hold. insulate your socket from any risk of heat.

It is also encrypted “C. I. ” on one of the two sides, in the center, on its main body.
Pieces from this period are extremely sought after due to their rarity.

It is in very good general condition, naturally patinated by its use and time, presenting a few scratches but nevertheless no silvering, even if it also presents some slight minor marks or traces of service shocks, mainly on the body, not altering nothing to her beauty and very legitimate considering her 162 years.
