Framed 42 x 69.5cm

Oil on canvas which has been lined. The paint layers are in a stable condition overall. There is a network of fine age and impact cracks across the surface. The horses and figures have been reinforced with overpaint to make them stand out better from the dark background. The varnish has degraded and no longer adequately saturates the darker paint layers. The surface is even but a little matte.
