Charles DeQuillfeldt prototype machine for filling headache powder packets, 19th century, American, mounted on wood plank and raised on cast iron cabriole-shaped legs. Together with (3) empty paper packets for Garfield's Tooth Powder, (6) wooden template molds, and (2) spare metal parts. Some parts loose, leather rollers deteriorated, split to wood plank. 17-1/2''w, 10-3/4''d, 18-1/2''h. Note: Charles DeQuillfeldt is noted for his invention of the flip-top ''Lightning bottle stopper'', still widely used today.
