Charles Eames, Ray Eames - Herman Miller - Armchair (1) - 675 time life lobby

[ translate ]

A beautiful and iconic executive lounge chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for the TIME-LIFE skyscraper in New York in 1960 and produced by Herman Miller (USA) . The armchair corresponds to the first rare model produced by Herman Miller between 1960 and 1968 (mod. 675) . In Italy it was distributed by De Padova (see advertising image of the time where you can see the absence of buttons on the back of the backrest, and the presence of three screws on the metal part as in the one on sale) . The armchair has been restored and has been personalised a little by the owner who had the studs put on the backrest and increased the height of the seat padding due to height problems. Whoever takes it can have the extra padding removed from the seat and have the 4 missing buttons put on, again by choice of the former owner. The armchair is reclinable. The lever at the bottom of the photo is used to adjust the recline, making it harder or softer depending on the person's weight. Unfortunately the label with the brand name has been detached, to prove the originality I have added photos of two identical armchairs sold on catawiki.
