Barron, Boston, Massachusetts; His granddaughter, Martha Endicott Gannett, bequeathed from the above, 1928; Her son, David Gannett, Seattle, Washington, by descent, 1991; Private collection, Seattle, Washington, inherited from the above, 2021. The present painting will be included in the second supplement to the Catalogue Raisonné of Charles-François Daubigny being prepared by François Delestre. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the lot.

Condition Report: Wax lined canvas. Very minor frame abrasion at upper edge. Yellowing to the varnish layer. Very faint, finely patterned craquelure throughout, with a very few instances of more pronounced cracking. A very few scattered pinpoints of discoloration. Mild surface dust. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: very heavily applied varnish to lower half of the work fluoresces green, greatly obscuring the picture surface. A very scattered small dots of retouching to the sky. A brushy area of retouching, approximately 3 inches high and 1 1x2-inches wide in lower right quadrant.
