This work is well secured in its frame. The surface of the painting consists of a carved ground layer, gold leaf, and paint. Heavy cracks are visible within the sky, which are stable and relics of the artist's process and use of a carved ground. There is an even, light dirt layer over the entire painting. Only a few small restorations can be seen when the work is viewed under ultraviolet light. There is one small restoration near the top of the right edge, and a few very small dots of restoration have been added to the top of the left corner. This painting is in excellent condition, and is ready to hang as is.
