Charles and Ray Eames - Herman Miller - armchairs (2) - TIME LIFE Lobby chair, mod. 675

[ translate ]

2 beautiful and iconic executive lounge chairs, designed by. Charles Eames for the skyscraper TIME-LIFE of New York in 1960 and made by Herman Miller (USA) . The armchairs correspond to the first rare model produced by Herman Miller between 1960 and 1968 (mod. 675) . In Italy they were distributed by De Padova (see advertising images from the time, where you can see there are no buttons on the back of the backrest, like on the one for sale) . The structure (not visible) is in multiple layers of wood, the frame (rotating foot with 4 spokes and arm rest supports) is made of polished aluminium. The black leather is original, clearly used but with no holes or tears. The armrest of just one armchair has loose stitching and needs to be reupholstered. The padding of the backrests is in good condition, the foam of the seat has lost its elasticity and is compressed but can be replaced. The two buttons missing on one seat have been kept. Shipping is to be paid by the buyer and can be agreed upon after the close of auction.
