Gilded Sterling Silver Fruit/Dessert Service, showcasing intricate repousse and chasework handles adorned with neoclassical style motifs of flora, putti, and lyres. The blades and forks are marked with English hallmarks including maker's mark "CJ" in conjoined circles. Made by Charlie Jacques, circa 1904-05. The set includes 24 pieces in total: 12 fruit knives and 12 fruit forks. 42.7 troy ounces. The forks measures appx 7 1/2" long and the knives measure appx 8 3/8" long. In good condition consistent with age and use. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
