From 1971 to 1975, Molenkamp trained at the St. Joost Academy of Visual Arts in Breda. From 1977 to 1979 she trained in drawing and painting at the Tilburg Academy for Visual Education. Molenkamp worked in Utrecht for a number of years in the 1980s. She now lives and works in Tilburg. Born into an artist family, Charlotte Molenkamp decided to follow an artist training course in 1971.

After her education in Tilburg, she found a part-time job as a drawing and art history teacher, while also focusing on her own work. In 1980 she started making gouaches in her own home in Utrecht. In 1983 she moved to Tilburg, where she had a studio near her house. There she starts making paintings with oil paint. Exhibitions and prizes: Charlotte Molenkamp's first exhibition was in the Tilburg Theater, following her winning a painting competition. She has her first exhibition of oil paintings together with Eugène Brands in a gallery in Eindhoven. Her work is included in various corporate collections, including those of ABN Amro, Philips, Interpolis and Rabobank.

The Royal Family also owns work by Charlotte Molenkamp. She exhibits annually in and at various national and international galleries and art fairs.
