Chess set - Franklin Mint La bataille de Waterloo - wood, tin

[ translate ]

A magnificent rare collectible chess set in good condition, some traces of friction due to use on the chessboard
The game was produced by Franklin Mint in 1984 on the theme of the Battle of Waterloo. The pieces are made of prop with solid round bases enhanced with a circular enameled band.
They were individually handmade by the goldsmiths of the Franklin Mint medallion.
This chess set is a highly sought after piece with great concern for the historical accuracy of its representations. All pieces, including pawns, represent distinct historical figures, the only exception being rooks. Fine tin, which is an excellent material for achieving advanced finishes, allowed the affixing of very sophisticated and realistic details.
The box is made of wood and its gray and blue checkerboard. Decorative patterns are present on the outline of the boxes. The box allows the parts to be stored inside in individual storage areas.
It measures 37. 5 x 37. 5 x 8 cm for 3 kg 500
The king measures 5. 6 cm high and the pawns approximately 4 cm.
The whole has been beautifully preserved and is still in good condition. The parts are in excellent condition, no broken or damaged parts. The board is also in good condition, some traces of minimal friction also explanatory sheet of the pawns
The game is particularly rare because it was only possible to obtain it via the Waterloo Museum in 1984 and only in the form of a subscription to the Waterloo Museum
It is a rare collector's item, made with great refinement and great attention to detail.
A must-have for any collector worthy of the name.
