Italian chest of drawers with a front of four registers that house three long drawers and a fourth compartment that hides six drawers. The drawers are concealed behind a hinged lid that transforms into a desk top. Ebonized moldings outline the drawers and side panel, enhancing the straight-lined design. The keyholes and elaborate metal handles have been worked with foliate elements. The natural beauty of the veining is also underscored by the elegant simplicity of the design and the marquetry work. The top, with chamfered edges, is decorated with a metal rim and vegetal fretwork.
